Baby Sister at the Portrait Shoot
These images are from a family portrait shoot in Chestnut Hill on a misty spring day. The shoot scheduled around the baby sister's first birthday. I am separating the blog posts to showcase the different personalities of each child as I like to do at at shoots.
This little sweetheart started the shoot off in a very pretty dress and we began shooting in her and her brother's play area. My assistant shot with me and got great candids as well. Inside this playroom was great light bouncing around and I filled it in with a little flash to keep the look soft. Keeping the light soft seemed to match what the shoot was all about here, little ones, their big soft play and reading rug, and bare feet. I keep direction to a minimum, and direct it mostly to the parents. Trying to direct a 1 year old is like trying to speak full sentence commands to a dog. They will look at you like you're crazy, probably get overwhelmed and run off! Not usually the desired goal. Images featured are a few of my favorite images of little Carleigh being just who she is as a coy chubby legged 1 year old. We shot hundreds of pictures in our hour and a half together.
