Underwater Photography Session with the Best's Kids in Freeport Maine
Do you remember that hot, hot streak we had at the end of June? When it felt like the planet was crying out it climate change weather?! Well, one of the plusses is that I had a shoot with two wonderful kids in their grandparent's pool. It was so hot my feet were burning up on the concrete around the pool. I got to use my new large dome which allows for a larger area of underwater coverage. I swam back and forth with Vivian in the pool. She isn't ready to go under yet. Maybe next year! She told me all about the bugs she likes, and the ones she doesn't, and why. A kid into nature is a kid after my own heart. And then there was Ollie. Ollie looked drunk on love and I asked his mom if he needed a nap, it was about that time of day many kids do. She said no, I think he is being shy because you are here. Awe! It wasn't our first shoot together! Just a month ago he was racing circles around me in a field of dandelions and trying to feed them to me without me knowing. I just felt him close to me and fuzziness being shoved into my smile as I was trying to photograph his sister! Love him. You know, in hindsight, perhaps Ollie was feeling the loss of Steve McKay too, even at his young age. The last time I was in a pool was with Steve, August of 2020, after camping with his parents. Country music was playing on the radio there too at Steve's friend's house in Richmond.
Pictures bring us back in time, to remember what we have experienced and had, making life richer. I encourage you to shoot, back up, and PRINT! And if you want a shoot that your kids will love and want me to bring my underwater gear, you know how to find me. :)
