Next Steps: Making an Album
Your celebration is behind you, and you've had your images for a few months on your personal online gallery. Hopefully, you've identified your favorites and created your mobile app and are having a wonderful time sharing them with friends and family. Now it's time to work with me to begin constructing your custom wedding album. Remember, this album is for you to have and hold from the big day. The thing you take with you to show your parents the next time you visit. What you peruse when friends come over for dinner (with clean hands, of course!).
By now, you have met with Sharyn, previewed the album choices, and shared with her the ones you like. You may have even told her the covers and page styles that you think fit your personality. If you need a refresher on covers, see below or click here for Album Styles. Don't forget, album production typically takes place between January and April, which is often a slow season for weddings (but not for wedding photographers!).
The Album-Making Process goes like this:
1. You select the style/size of the album you want. This is typically included in your package but you could upgrade to a bigger album if you wish.
2. Pick the images that will grace the pages of your album. This is a team effort, but if it feels overwhelming, let's make it easy:
- I can select images for you. If you go this route, it is best to have your top ten must-have-ultimate-favorites in a folder. You know what you LOVE, and one of those should be either a cover image or a double spread in the album.
- Of course, for weddings, the bride and groom can select images. Don't worry about being too picky, as I will participate in helping group images and fill the page spread design.
3. I will design your Album based on your choices.
4. I send a proof of the album to you.
5. You have up to 3 weeks to approve the album design or request minor changes.
6. Four to eight weeks later, your album will be delivered to your door. So have a bottle of champagne ready and get ready to enjoy!
Things to look for in the album proof are:
- Do you love all the images of you?
- Is everyone you think needs to represented in the album actually in the album?
- Is it enough to tell the story of your day? (You can always add additional images in sets of 25)
Changes you may have include:
- Removing/replacing an image
- Adding an image. Maybe you realized you are missing someone important.
- Specific image touch up. Please note: All pimples and exit signs are automatically removed.
Want an album for your parents?
You can order a duplicate album for your parents at 30% off the original album price. So for instance, if you have selected the package with the 8x10 Album with 50 images (valued at $950), you can order a duplicate album for $665.
Alternatively, you can order a separate parent album for $750 which includes 30 images you select.
