Bright Lights Big Drool !
I recently set up my basement studio and was reminiscing about all the wonderful baby portraits I have taken against black, cherry red, or orange back backgrounds showing off various babies cute rolly little physiques. I was planning on doing that for the Webber families new addition little Devon when Vanessa requested her baby session for her new family addition. Then I thought again, no, let's do an in-home baby session because I can capture those studio moments, plus so much more. I wanted to capture the story of the Webber family, in 2018, - their home, the babies room, the family room, the crazy puppy the 3.5-year-old who has strong opinions and lots of new vocabulary skills. I captured that plus the captivating cute Devon moments and baby physique. :) I do love baby bums, baby legs, baby expressions, baby drool! Babies rock.
To do an in-home session it’s best if there is some ‘pick up’ first. With 2 little ones, there can be ... stuff, toys, Pamper boxes, and more stuff ! Vanessa was texting me house cleaning updates as she got through the rooms! When I arrived the house was all tidy, her hair and Eva’s hair was done and mom and daughter were in matching outfits. It was awesome! (I had asked for dark shirts/dresses so when holding the baby he would stand out.)
The shoot went well with my Yarmouth Highschool student Maddy, job shadowing her last day with me. She was quiet as a mouse and could forget she was there but she was always right there holding the reflector, my favorite light source for in-home portraits. That and the one light used to get Eva bouncing on momma’s bed!
The best part was Vanessa texted me when Tyler (her husband) got home he said, gosh you should have Sharyn over more often, the house looks great!
As an add-on service I will be working with a wonderful house cleaner Kristin who may be available to come over and tidy a home in the southern Maine area pre-shoot!
