David is a high school senior from Boone High School in Orlando, Florida. What is he doing getting his senior photos taken in Freeport, Maine? David wanted Maine, he wanted a specific look and furthermore, David wanted snow! From my interactions with David I know him to be quiet, polite, and studious. He also knows what he wants and communicates that well. Successful photoshoots are a result of successful teamwork. We had texted back and forth sharing visions for his shoot. When he arrived at the studio, he shared a new photo with me of a Polo Ralph Lauren ad he like and the models were in a dark wood room with period furniture and art on the walls. I  looked at the white walls of my studio, and thought to myself, Oh boy, I can't get this look here. But I knew right where to go. I mapped out our afternoon, asked his mom if she was prepared to be in photos, because I must have a mom shot! She wasn't, but had all she need in the car to be camera ready. :)

We started off in my studio at Pineland Farms, we took it outside of Auburn Hall which looks like a college building itself and is perfect for senior portraits. On our way into Freeport, we stopped at my favorite field in Pownal. Next up was the Harraseeket Inn, where luckily I ran into an events manager who had no issues with us photographing in the tea room. Perfect! Their green leather sofa was perfect for the green outfit we saved for last. And then, right after the shoot was a wrap and we were walking into the Bake Shop on Main Street Freeport, it started snowing. I told his mom, it is like a Hallmark Christmas movie out there! When we first went outside the wind was hitting David in the face pelting big snowflakes into his eyes. Poor David! I suggested we head over the Tuscan Bistro to be shielded from the wind and have the dark building facade really highlight the snow. David was game for anything! It was his first experience with snow and we got all of the magic captured for him! In case you didn't know, I love photographing in the snow. So I was loving it too!

I look forward to hearing which college David will choose. Perhaps this will be one of many more snowfalls he will get to experience!
