Leah's Snow Day Senior Portraits in Portland Maine
Leah contacted me for her senior portraits with little time to spare. She decided her junior year to graduate and move on to college, which also meant senior photos! Leah loves the snow and I suggested a snow session. We had one date planned based on the forecast and then, in classic Maine weather, the forecast changed! Around 11am this Wednesday I was out walking my dog. I checked the forecast for our shoot scheduled for Saturday. I noticed snowflakes were looking good now and the day we had planned for snow was now just a cloudy day. I texted Leah, "are you free this afternoon?". I had an appointment in Portland and brought my cameras in case she texted back. She did! And what happened was magic. :)
Leah booked an hour session upon my recommendation. We hadn't solidified a location but because of the roads I recommended her house. This was perfect because it meant outfit changes were easy to do! Leah had perhaps 30% of her wardrobe spread out in the kitchen and we got to include many of her favorites, including a friend's sweater dress and her sister's sweater wrap (thing). Team work is the dream work! Leah also was able to blow dry her curly hair for a curl refresh and warm up in the process. We got many good choices. What you see are some of my favorites. It is also worth noting that this was also mid-term week for Leah and applause to her for being spontaneous and seizing the day amidst a potentially stressful few days.
To top off our wonderful photo session Leah shared a photo of her aunt whom she and her sister are named after. I commented how similar she and her aunt look. We decided to recreate the image copying the pose and outfit as best we could, as much as possible. I love the results.
